Event information
What is the format of the Golf Day?
It is an 18-hole Stableford scoring event. Teams of 4 will compete, with the best 2 scores on every hole counting towards the team score. All 4 players will score on par 3’s. The handicap index limit is Men 20.0 and Ladies 30.0.
What are the tee times?
Tee times will be on a rolling start from the 1st and 10th tees with 10-minute intervals, starting at 10am.
Can I participate in the golf day if I’m not a member of Saffron Walden Golf Club?
Absolutely! This charity golf day is open to both members and non-members.
Can I volunteer at the St Clare Golf Day?

What is the dress code?
On the course, collared golf shirts or accredited golf outer garments, smart shorts/skirts, sports socks, and golf shoes are required. Denim shorts or trousers are not allowed. In the clubhouse, smart casual attire is preferred, and golf shoes are not permitted.
Venue
Can I hire a buggy?
Yes, you can hire a buggy by contacting the Hospice. Please call 01279 773750 to arrange this. Please note that availability is limited, and buggies are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Is there a driving range to practice?
Yes, there is a full-length covered driving range with various targets and distance markers. Balls for the driving range are provided free of charge for this event.

Yes, free parking is available onsite, although it’s limited, so please consider carpooling where possible.

General etiquette
Mobile phones should be set to silent, and voice calls are not permitted on the course, except in a medical emergency. Calls made on the patio should be made taking into consideration other members on the patio and golfers playing on the 18th hole.
