RUN IT, JOG IT, WHEEL IT!

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the St Clare Hospice 10k run on Sunday 28th March. We had over 500 runners register to show their support for the Hospice and so far a fantastic £7,000 has been raised towards the care of people with life-limiting illnesses in West Essex and East Hertfordshire.

 

Whether you were a competitive club runner looking for a personal best or were a running novice looking to do your bit for a local charity, it seems that fun was had by all. To see photos from the event please click here.

 

Congratulations to Andrew Mynott from Saffron Striders for winning the men’s race in 35 minutes and 7 seconds and to Fiona Halls, also from Saffron Striders for winning the women’s race in 40 minutes and 42 seconds. Congratulations also to Harlow Running Club who secured the top men’s club prize and Saffron Striders for the top ladies club prize. If you have raised sponsor money whilst taking part in the run, we are very grateful. We are hoping to raise over £20,000 from this event and your donations will help us reach this goal. Please send your completed sponsor form and ensure all cheques are made payable to St Clare Hospice and are mailed to The 10k run team, St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, Essex, CM17 9JX, preferably by Friday 7th May.

 

A big thank you to PPE Ltd, Jonen Shipping and Palletine for sponsoring the run meaning more money comes directly to the Hospice, Harlow Running Club for all of their support in the run organisation, Rowan, Martin, Monique and their teams for their help with the time keeping, Ten17 for promoting the run on the radio and their website, and finally to Lucozade for donating the refreshments.

 

If you fancy more 10k run challenges, the Hospice has 20 guaranteed entry places into the Bupa London 10,000 on Monday 31st May. This 10k run round the streets of London passes many famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral. If you would like to take part and can pledge to raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship, please contact fundraising on (01279) 773 750 or fund@stclarehospice.org.uk to reserve your place. We are also involved with the High Ongar 10k run on Sunday 4th July so get in touch to be posted an entry form!
